80G Tax Exemption Information

1. What 80G means for you

Under Section 80G, donations to approved charitable institutions qualify for a deduction (currently 50% of the donated amount for organisations in our category, subject to limits under the Act). If you donate ₹10,000, you can typically claim ₹5,000 as a deduction from your taxable income.

Note: the deduction is available under the old tax regime; please confirm applicability to your situation with your tax advisor.

2. What you need to claim it

A valid donation receipt containing our name, address, PAN, 80G registration number, your name, your PAN, the amount, and the date — our system generates exactly this and emails it to you automatically after payment.

Your PAN must be provided at the time of donation for the receipt to be valid for tax purposes. Donations above ₹2,000 must be made through non-cash modes (which all online donations are).

3. Form 10BE & annual statements

As required by law, we file donor details with the Income Tax Department (Form 10BD) each year and issue the corresponding Certificate of Donation (Form 10BE) to donors for donations made in that financial year. Your emailed receipt is your immediate acknowledgment; Form 10BE follows after our annual filing.

4. Lost your receipt?

Every receipt can be re-downloaded from the link in your email, or write to info@protectthepawsfoundation.org with your donation date and amount and we'll resend it.

5. Our registration details

Our PAN, 80G registration number and NGO registration number are printed on every receipt. Configure these in the system settings — see the deployment guide — so they appear on all generated documents. Copies of our registration certificates are available to donors on request.
