1. Information we collect

Donation details: name, email, phone, city, PAN (only if you request an 80G receipt), company name (for corporate donations), donation amount and payment reference IDs returned by our payment gateway.

Form submissions: information you provide in volunteer, rescue, contact, CSR and newsletter forms, including location details you share for rescue requests.

Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) used for security and to keep the website running reliably.

2. How we use your information

To process donations and issue your donation receipt, invoice and 80G certificate by email.

To respond to rescue requests, volunteer applications, adoption and CSR enquiries.

To send you our newsletter or updates only if you opted in; every email includes an unsubscribe option.

To maintain statutory accounting records and comply with Indian tax and audit requirements.

3. Payment information

Card, UPI and netbanking details are processed directly by our payment gateway (Razorpay) on their secure, PCI-DSS compliant systems. We never see or store your full card number, CVV or UPI PIN. We store only the payment reference IDs needed to reconcile and, where applicable, refund your donation.

4. Sharing of information

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with: (a) our payment gateway to process donations; (b) our email service to deliver receipts and updates; (c) auditors and government authorities where required by law.

5. Data retention & security

Donation and receipt records are retained as required by Indian tax law (typically 8 years). Other enquiries are retained only as long as needed to serve you. We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls and audit logs to protect your data.

6. Your rights

You may request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal data (subject to statutory retention of donation records), or unsubscribe from communications at any time, by writing to info@protectthepawsfoundation.org.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies necessary for the website to function. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

We may update this policy from time to time; the latest version will always be published on this page with its revision date.
